Get Retro Commander

14 days of unlimited use, free. Pick the build that fits your setup - both flavours are feature-identical. A donation tier silences the post-trial nag; see the options.

First launch needs a one-time sign-in.

The app opens a small dialog the very first time you run it: pick a password, confirm your email, and you're in. That starts the 14-day trial. There's no checkout in the way - the donation tiers are entirely optional and only nudge you after the trial ends. How the trial and tiers fit together →

System requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11, x64
  • .NET runtime: 10 Desktop (Lite build only)
  • Hardware: Ultimate-64, C64 Ultimate, or Ultimate-II+ on the same network
  • Disk: ~10 MB lite, ~70 MB portable (with cache)

What's new in 0.5.0

  • Sign-in & 14-day free trial - start the app, pick a password, confirm your email, you're in. Tier system kicks in only after the trial.
  • Offline mode - master kill-switch in Settings ▸ Connection. Suppresses every REST / FTP / heartbeat call so the app runs as a plain local file browser.
  • Recognises .ue2 Ultimate firmware updates as a known file type.
  • Inline-rename now keeps keyboard focus on the renamed item - no more mouse round-trip.
  • Account section in Settings: change email, change password, sign out, plus upgrade buttons.

Previously, in 0.4.0

  • Settings dialog refresh - focus-ring color picker with hex, presets, opacity slider.
  • Reset to defaults action that preserves your connection details.
  • Inline test-connection result with status dot.
